Manikin-Based Simulation Conducted Over Videoconference: Technical Details
Description
Utilizing commonly available videoconferencing equipment, our simulation center staff conducted remote simulation sessions for clerkship students restricted from in-person participation due to COVID-19. This resource provides a detailed overview of the project, specifically the technical requirements and setup. Utilizing our existing simulation infrastructure, in addition to a standalone videoconferencing cart, students were able to participate in manikin-based simulation sessions remotely. Utilizing our simulation staff as avatars, each student is assigned a role during the simulation, and is responsible for the patient interview, review of data and ordering of diagnostics and interventions.
