Last Updated: March 29, 2020

Description

Contact distancing and PPE especially with positive pressure PPE (PAPR) threaten effective team communication within current models of inpatient care delivery. Communication is central to patient safety. This brief video describes the rapid incorporation of video tele conferencing into inpatient rounds as well as scalable models to deliver supervised care in response to a critical care volume surge. The Goals are to achieve contact/social distancing on rounds, maintain effective team communication, integrate remote team members and learners, and build a resilient communication infrastructure to scale critical care delivery to delivery high quality supervised care to a large volume of patients.
