FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine Covid-19 Pandemic Project OBGYN

This group-based simulation exercise contains two parts to be completed in two weeks:

1. Each group of 4-5 students can choose a clinical scenario: either emergency department or an Internal Medicine private practice. Students are asked to create and submit a group PowerPoint presentation describing the patient/staff safety protocols, work flow, patient flow, testing protocols and reporting measures they would put in place if they assumed the role of lead physician or medical director during a Covid-19 pandemic. 
    
2. Each group of 4-5 students will be assigned one of three sets of questions within the topics of Covid-19, a historical review of past pandemic responses, and general best practices in pandemic response. Within each topic, students are also asked to describe how Covid-19 impacts pregnancy (i.e. effects on the fetus, modifying counseling practices, modifying recommendations based on gestational age, etc.) Questions and answers can be submitted (as a team) in a word document.
