Chest Radiology and Neuroradiology Instructive Modules

Several short videos, that begin with the goals and objectives of the lecture and take the learner through several case-based scenarios in order to instruct the basics of chest imaging and neuroradiology. These lectures are a part of a larger hybrid learning curriculum of the radiology elective at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. Each video provides the learner with bite-sized didactics regarding the basics of imaging. Topics include "do not miss" diagnosis such as a pneumothorax or pulmonary embolus in chest radiology. In addition, there is a 10-minute video about the basic lines and tubes encountered in the ICU setting. In neuroradiology, topics such as the appearance of stroke and hemorrhage on a head CT are covered in short videos. In addition, the basics of imaging appropriateness and imaging algorithms are also demonstrated via case-based teaching. The videos are meant for an audience of 3rd and 4th year medical students and also interns entering residency as they start to navigate lines and tubes in the ICU or have to decide the most appropriate imaging test to order that would be most beneficial to their patients.
