The GIP membership is comprised of a diverse group of over 600 leaders responsible for all aspects of institutional planning and everyone has a unique story to tell. The following GIP member profiles shine a spotlight on some of the work being done by GIP members at academic medical centers and teaching hospitals from across the country. New profiles will be added throughout the year.

Walter Douglas, Jr., Chief Operating Officer, Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School
Mr. Douglas has direct responsibility for the Facilities Planning and Management, Information Services Technology, and Marketing and Communications Groups and played a key role in the development of a new comprehensive cancer center building.
Pam Bounelis, Assistant Dean for Biomedical Research, University of Alabama at Birmingham
Dr. Bounelis worked in partnership will her colleagues from Safety, Facilities, Maintenance, Finance, Animal Resources, and Campus Planning to secure nearly $90 million in extramural sponsorship in bits and pieces during the last decade to renovate and construct some of UAB's finest campus research buildings.
Eric Boberg, Executive Director for Research, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine
Dr. Boberg has played a key role in the renovation of over 150,000sf of wet lab space and 200,000sf of office/dry lab space, investing approximately $150M in infrastructure improvements, while maintaining and expanding Northwestern's research, education, and clinical operations - and preparing for construction of a $450M new building.
Brian Smith, Associate Vice Chancellor, Research Infrastructure & Operations, University of California, San Francisco
Mr. Smith is responsible for the day-to-day operations, management, and oversight of key components of a $1.3 billion research enterprise.
Debra Fry, Director of Resource Administration & Operating Budget, Budget & Resource Management at the University of California, San Francisco
Ms. Fry was closely involved with the design and implementation of the first budget and planning tool to be implemented campus-wide.
Hannah Lawrence, Director of Planning, University of Chicago
Ms. Lawrence helped to develop and launch the Center for Research Informatics and managed the Center for a number of years.
Bill Orosz, Administrative Director, Planning Services, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center
Mr. Orosz has worked to advance a 'culture of planning' at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
Katy Stevenson, Manager, Strategy, Planning and Development, University of Rochester Medical School
For the past two years Ms. Stevenson has worked with the local YMCA network to develop comprehensive health and wellness destinations through placing primary care offices and programs such as nutrition and sports medicine at local YMCAs.
