AAMC Discusses Physician Shortage, Solutions

Nationwide doctor shortages, expected to grow to more than 90,000 by 2020, are driven by a growing, aging population, and a 15-year freeze on Medicare funding for residency training positions. AAMC Chief Public Policy Officer Atul Grover, M.D., Ph.D., discusses the shortage, its impact on the health system, and solutions for solving the crisis on C-SPAN’s Washington Journal.
