The Advanced Leadership Program is uniquely curated for experienced associate deans and department chairs who are seeking solutions to their most complex organizational challenges. This two-and-a-half-day, interactive masterclass will prepare participants to influence change within their organization and apply decision making strategies to help them navigate in times of rapid change and uncertainty.

By leveraging the expertise of world-class business leaders and esteemed leaders within academic medicine and science, participants will cultivate and enhance their leadership abilities through a combination of skill enrichment, action-planning sessions, the practical application of concepts, and facilitated peer collaboration.

Associate Deans or Department Chairs with 4+ years of experience in their role at an AAMC Member Institution, School of Medicine

Application & Fees

The application process for the January 2020 masterclass is now open and will continue through Thursday, September 12th at 11:59 pm Eastern Time. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. The application fee is $2,700 and includes payment of the two-and-a-half-day program, course materials, three breakfasts, three lunches, refreshment breaks, and a networking reception. Although applicants will be required to submit a credit card during the application process, they will only be charged upon being notified of their acceptance. The application fee does not include the optional CME fee, travel, or hotel accommodations.

Upon completing the Advanced Leadership Program, participants will be ready to immediately:

  • Lead collaboratively to drive change at their institutions;
  • Align organizational culture in leading change;
  • Apply a systems-thinking approach to decision making;
  • Discover techniques for influencing others and align goals with strategy
