Clinical Experiences Survey Executive Summary 
In the spring of 2016, the GSA Committee on Admissions of the AAMC distributed a survey to the designated medical school admissions contacts at each AAMC member medical school. The goal of the survey was to gather information on current medical school admissions practices related to requirements for clinical experiences for medical school applicants. This document provides an executive summary of those findings.

Guidelines for Clinical Shadowing Experiences for Pre-medical Students 
These guidelines are intended to be used as a model and by no means are intended to supersede any agreements already established. Advisors, students and others are welcome to adopt all or portions of this document for the use of pre-medical students interested in pursuing a career in medicine. These guidelines also suggest a protocol for a physician/pre-medical student agreement as it relates to patient interaction.

Effective Practices for Using Socioeconomic Status Indicators in Medical School Admissions 
This document presents an indicator of the socioeconomic status (SES) of medical school applicants using parental information provided in the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS®) application. This document establishes criteria for the SES indicator, describes the validity of the indicator by examining its relationship to additional information that applicants provide about their SES, and provides guidance for the use of SES information in medical school admissions.

American Medical College Application Service® (AMCAS®)
The American Medical College Application Service® (AMCAS®) is the AAMC's centralized medical school application processing service. Most U.S. medical schools use AMCAS as the primary application method for their first-year entering classes.

Holistic Review
The Holistic Review in Admissions workshop is designed to assist medical schools in enhancing student body diversity as a means of achieving the mission-based excellence they seek.


Post-baccalaureate Premedical Programs
A number of schools now offer post-baccalaureate premedical programs designed to assist individuals in preparing for medical school. This database can be searched by state, school/institution name, undergraduate or graduate program, degree type and special program focus.
