Guide to Northeast Group on Educational Affairs

The Northeast Group on Educational Affairs (NEGEA) is one of the four regional groups of the AAMC’s Group on Educational Affairs (GEA). The mission of the NEGEA is to foster excellence along the continuum of medical education--undergraduate medical education, graduate medical education, and continuous professional development--by providing a forum for discussing the concerns of the medical education profession, serving as a resource, and acting in an advisory capacity to the GEA and AAMC.

This mission is accomplished through communication, cooperation and shared respect among its members by:

  1. Enhancing the professional development of medical educators;
  2. Advancing research and understanding in medical education;
  3. Providing service to the profession by assisting individual members and institutions through consultation and programs for professional development; and
  4. Promoting formal and informal relationships and communication among those involved in medical education

To get involved with the NEGEA, please fill out this form or email us.

Regional meetings provide a forum for exchanging ideas, learning new strategies, and developing plans that may facilitate your work and implementation of the NEGEA mission. Each GEA region holds an annual spring meeting for faculty, educators, and administrators from the member institutions within their respective regions. Regional GEA meetings include sessions and exhibits analogous to those offered at the national and regional special interest groups (SIGs) meetings.
