Connecting the Caregivers, the Learners and the Researchers: A Shared Quality Improvement Registry to Build Knowledge and Improve Care

Project Description: At any given time across University of Florida Health and the University of Florida (which consists of a 1,000 bed Academic Teaching Hospital, Colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, Allied Professionals) all co-located on the same campus, there are many "small tests of change" projects on-going all focused on improving some aspect of quality, patient safety or patient and family engagement. With the implementation of the ACGME CLER requirements requiring active resident participation in quality and safety, increased emphasis in the curriculum of many of the colleges on quality, patient safety and intra-professional teamwork and the AMC's focus on improving quality and patient safety, there is a need to create a "single" location where all of the projects, both large and small, can reside providing greater opportunity for shared research, shared learning, translation to practice and dissemination.
