Development of a collaborative regional program to promote and coordinate Quality Improvement, research, and education

Project Description: We propose to begin to harness the disparate QI efforts across institutions and academic departments in the greater Milwaukee area by inventorying these efforts and creating an umbrella structure that will help bring them together so as to promote collaborative research, cross institutional problem solving and sharing of best practices. We will utilize the existing structure and relationships of the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) of Southeast Wisconsin, a partnership among 8 leading academic and healthcare institutions in the Milwaukee area. The primary products of this award are the development of an inventory of existing quality improvement resources across the eight institutions, successful implementation of the workshop and the development of a plan for a cross-institutional coordinating structure to promote QI research and education.
