Regulating Research

Biomedical research conducted at medical schools and teaching hospitals is regulated by both state and federal agencies with the goals of protecting the safety of research subjects, the privacy of patients, the integrity of federal funds, the research process, and the data resulting from research. Through policies and practices that comply with these rules, AAMC member institutions promote ethical research practices while advancing life saving and life improving discoveries.
