Integrating Quality Meeting

Each year the AAMC host the Integrating Quality Meeting. Save the date for next year! The 2017 Integrating Quality Meeting will be held June 8-9 at the Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel in Rosemont, Ill. A call for abstracts for posters, workshops and presentation sessions will open by the end of 2016.

The 2016 Integrating Quality Meeting: Optimizing Care and the Clinical Learning Environment was held June 9-10. In case you missed it, check out all the tweets  from the 2016 event. In a highly interactive learning format coupled with robust networking opportunities, the meeting offered nearly 300 participants from dozens of academic health systems, medical and health professions schools, with a forum to learn and discuss strategies for optimizing the environment for learning, care, and discovery and specifically addressed healthcare quality, patient safety, and care transitions topics.

Students, residents, faculty, and institutional leaders learned through a series of plenaries, interactive workshops, and poster sessions about improving transitions of care through standardized and collaborative follow-up models, health equity and healthcare disparities, interprofessional teamwork, clinical pathways to support high-value care, and, on the ambulatory care side, EMR tools to help reduce specialist referrals.
