Harvard Medicine News is an email newsletter sent weekly to 127,000 subscribers worldwide. Our March 13 and March 20 issues were our two most-clicked issues of 2023. They give a good snapshot of how we strive to balance content for both local and international audiences and provide a mix of science, clinical, education, and community stories.
What was the most impactful part of your entry?
Both issues surpassed our usual open and click rates. The callout banners also show our team’s burgeoning partnership with another part of the school that reaches exponentially more readers, as we aim to build on the interest of each other’s unique audiences.
What challenge did you overcome?
It’s been a long slog for our staff during the pandemic, as it has been for so many others in the past few years. Nonetheless, our team came together to produce four outstanding stories for each of these newsletter issues, on topics ranging from genetic engineering to Match Day to concussions found in football players.
