    February 2, 2023

Gayle Lee, Director of Physician Payment Policy and Quality at the AAMC, and Allison Cohen, Shareholder at Baker Donelson, discussed the latest regulatory and legislative developments in telehealth. This session sponsored by the Group on Faculty Practice (GFP) and the Chief Medical Officers' Group (CMOG) included an overview of the telehealth regulatory framework, including which regulations changed during the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE) and which will remain in the long-term after the PHE ends. It also included key considerations when reviewing telehealth arrangements, including reimbursement, professional board requirements/licensure/scope of practice, fraud and abuse considerations, corporate practice of medicine and privacy.

    Learning Objectives:

    • Understand which telehealth regulatory waivers and flexibilities will remain in place.
    • Identify key legal considerations that need to be addressed when structuring telehealth arrangements.
    • Identify steps to take to mitigate risk when providing telehealth services.
