Anne Berry, Lead Specialist, Implementation Research & Policy

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) held its Board of Governors Meeting March 20. During the meeting, PCORI Executive Director Joe Selby, MD, MPH, provided an update that, as of March 15, the primary results of 46 comparative clinical effectiveness research (CER) projects have been made available to the public, and at least three more papers are in-press.

Dr. Selby also delivered an update on PCORnet, the National Patient-Centered clinical Research Network. He reported results from the most recent demographics query conducted in March, presented examples of how PCORnet is used in research studies and demonstration projects, and described various types of queries that stakeholders have submitted to PCORnet.

During the meeting, the Board approved the nominations of the chair and co-chair for the Advisory Panel on Clinical Trials. University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Associate Professor of Medicine, Biostatistics, and Clinical and Translation Science Kaleab Abebe, MA, PhD, will serve as Chair. New York University School of Medicine Professor of Population Health and Division of Biostatistics Director Andrea Troxel, ScD, will serve as co-chair.
