May 16: Senate Finance Committee Hearing on Improving Care for Patients with Chronic Conditions

The Senate Finance Committee will hold a hearing to examine bipartisan Medicare policies that improve care for patients with chronic conditions. Witnesses include Stephen Rosenthal, senior vice president, population health management, Montefiore Health System and Lee Schwamm, MD, professor of neurology, Harvard Medical School.

 

May 17: House Labor-HHS Appropriations Subcommittee Hearing on Biomedical Research
10 a.m.; 2358-C Rayburn House Office Building, Washington, D.C.
The House Committee on Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies will hold a hearing on “Advances in Biomedical Research.” NIH Director Francis Collins, MD, PhD, is expected to testify.

 

May 18: House Ways and Means Committee Hearing on the Medicare Program
2 p.m.; 1100 Longworth House Office Building, Washington, D.C.
The House Ways and Means Committee will hold a hearing on the current status of the Medicare program, payment systems, and extenders.
