Witnesses include Weill Medical College of Cornell University Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine David Klimstra and University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine Clinical Professor of Pathology Karen Kaul, M.D., Ph.D.

Sept. 21: Senate Subcommittee Hearing on Combatting the Opioid Epidemic
10 a.m.; 342 Dirksen Senate Office Building, Washington, D.C.
The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations will hold a hearing to review the anti-opioid abuse efforts by federal authorities and private insurers.

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee will hold a hearing to review the rising price of EpiPens. Mylan, Inc. Chief Executive Officer Heather Bresch and Food and Drug Administration Center for Drug Evaluation and Research Deputy Director Doug Throckmorton, M.D. are expected to testify.
