March 24: MACPAC Public Meeting

The Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) will hold a public meeting to discuss payment models, review state approaches to value-based purchasing in Medicaid, and review site visit findings regarding the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSIRP) program. Public comments can be submitted through the commission’s website.

March 24: Senate HELP Hearing on Advancing Research
10 a.m.; 430 Dirksen Senate Office Building
The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee will hold a hearing titled “Continuing America’s Leadership: Advancing Research and Development for Patients.” Witness testimony will be posted to the committee’s website when available.

March 24: House E&C Hearing on 340B Program
10 a.m.; 2322 Rayburn House Office Building
The House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health will hold a hearing to discuss the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)’s 340B drug pricing program. Witnesses include Diana Espinosa, MPP, Deputy Administrator, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA); Krista M. Pedley, PharmD, MS, CDR, Office of Pharmacy Affairs Health Resources and Services Administration; Debbie Draper, Health Care Director, Government Accountability Office (GAO); and Anne Maxwell, Assistant Inspector General for Evaluation and Inspections, Office of Inspector General (OIG).

March 24: House W&M Hearing on Medicare Fraud
10 a.m.; B-318 Rayburn House Office Building
The House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Oversight will hold a hearing to discuss the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Fraud Prevention System (FPS) to address Medicare fraud. Witness testimony will be posted to the committee’s website when available.

March 24: PCORI Board of Governors Meeting
12 p.m.; Webinar/Teleconference
The Patient- Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) Board of Governors will hold a teleconference/webinar to review various initiatives including the PCORnet Health System Demonstration Project and the Q1 Dashboard, among other items.

The Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs will hold a hearing to discuss the Veterans Choice Act. Witness testimony will be posted to the committee’s website when available. 

March 25: House Labor–HHS Subcommittee Hearing CDC Budget
8:30 a.m.; 2358-C Rayburn House Office Building
The House Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies (Labor-HHS) Appropriations Subcommittee will hold a hearing to discuss the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) fiscal year (FY) 2016 budget. CDC Director Thomas Frieden, M.D., will be among the witness providing testimony.

March 26: House E&C Hearing on Prescription Drug Abuse
10 a.m.; 2123 Rayburn House Office Building
The House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations will hold a hearing to discuss the growing problems of prescription drug and heroin abuse including state and local perspectives. Witness testimony will be posted to the committee’s website when available.
