The House Ways and Means Committee will hold a hearing to review the president’s fiscal year (FY) 2016 budget proposal. U.S. Department of Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew is expected to testify.

Feb. 3: E&C Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee Hearing
10:00 a.m.; 2123 Rayburn House Office Building
The House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations will hold a hearing to discuss the public health response to seasonal influenza. Directors from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Food and Drug Administration, Department of Health and Human Services, and National Institutes of Health, are expected to testify.

The Senate Finance Committee will hold a hearing to review the president’s fiscal year (FY) 2016 budget proposal. U.S. Department of Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew is expected to testify.

Feb. 5-6: Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues Meeting
9:00 a.m.; 1001 14th St. NW, Washington, DC
The Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues will conduct its twentieth meeting to discuss various agenda items including the BRAIN Initiative and ongoing work in neuroscience, as well as the recent public health emergency response on the current Ebola virus disease epidemic.
