On the Hill

Following the Nov. 4 midterm elections, House Republicans and Democrats have begun to select committee chairs and ranking members for the 114th Congress. Newly selected leaders include:

  • House Ways and Means Committee Chair: Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.)

  • House Budget Committee Chair: Tom Price (R-Ga.)

  • House Energy and Commerce Ranking Member: Rep. Frank Pallone (D-N.J.)

  • House Veterans’ Affairs Ranking Member: Rep. Corrine Brown (D-Fla.)

  • House Education and the Workforce Ranking Member: Rep. Bobby Scott (D-Va.)

  • House Labor-HHS-Education Appropriations Subcommittee Chair: Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.)

  • House Military Construction-VA Appropriations Subcommittee Chair: Rep. Charlie Dent (R-Fla.)


Senate Committee Chairs will be decided after the Dec. 6 runoff election in Louisiana.
