The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) will host a teleconference/webinar to describe its proposed process for peer review and public release of its primary research findings. A question and answer session for attendees will follow the PCORI presentation.

The Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Payment Access Commission (MACPAC) will hold a public meeting. The agenda will be available on the MACPAC website, where they also accept public comments.

Nov. 4: Health IT Policy Committee Meeting

The Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health Information Technology (HIT) Policy Committee will meet to discuss recommendations to the National Coordinator for Health IT on a policy framework for the development and adoption of a nationwide health information infrastructure, including standards for the exchange of patient medical information.

Nov. 5-6: Bioethics Meeting

The Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues will hold its 19th meeting in Salt Lake City, Utah. Agenda items include a discussion on the Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies (BRAIN) Initiative and ongoing work in neuroscience.

The National Advisory Committee on Nursing Education and Practice (NACNEP) will hold the first of two required annual meetings to discuss the future of nursing practice in the context of interprofessional education and practice.

Nov. 6: Senate Appropriations Committee Ebola Hearing
2 p.m.; G-50 Dirksen Senate Office Building, Washington, D.C.
The Senate Appropriations Committee will hold a hearing on the U.S. government response to the Ebola outbreak.

Nov. 6-7: MedPAC Meeting

The Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) will hold a public meeting and will solicit comments on the agenda via its website.
