Aug. 4 – Sept. 5: House and Senate in Recess
The House and Senate will be in recess Aug. 4 through Sept. 5 for the summer recess and Labor Day holiday. Both chambers will be in session starting Monday, Sept. 8.

Aug. 5-6: Advisory Committee on Training in Primary Care Medicine and Dentistry Meeting
10 a.m.; 5600 Fisher Lane, Rockville, Md.
The Advisory Committee on Training in Primary Care Medicine and Dentistry will hold a meeting to discuss its 11th report. The Committee provides advice and recommendations on policy and program development to the Health and Human Services Secretary.

Aug. 6: HIT Policy Committee Meeting
9 a.m.; Webinar/Teleconference
The Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health Information Technology (HIT) Policy Committee will meet via webinar/teleconference to discuss recommendations to the National Coordinator for Health IT on a policy framework for the development and adoption of a nationwide health information infrastructure, including standards for the exchange of patient medical information.

Aug.6: House VA Committee Field Hearing on Rural Health Care Access
11:15 a.m.; 912 North Main Street, Roswell, N.M.
The House Veteran’ Affairs (VA) Committee will hold a field hearing in New Mexico on VA access and mental health care.

Aug. 20: HIT Standards Committee Meeting
9:30 a.m.; Webinar/Teleconference
The Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health Information Technology (HIT) Standards Committee will meet via webinar/teleconference to discuss standards implementation specifications and certification criteria for the electronic exchange of health information.

Sept. 11-12: MedPAC Meeting
Time: TBA; 1300 Pennsylvania Ave. N.W., Washington, D.C.
The Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) will hold a public meeting. When available, MedPAC will solicit comments on the agenda via its website.
