The Senate Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies Appropriations Subcommittee will mark up draft legislation providing FY 2013 appropriations for NIH and other departments, programs, and agencies under its jurisdiction.

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Subcommittee on Federal Financial Management will hold a hearing to discuss efforts to save taxpayer dollars by curbing waste and fraud in Medicaid.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Advisory Committee to the Director (ACD) will meet to discuss dual use research, diversity in the biomedical research workforce, and institute and center director reports among other items.

June 14: NRC to Release Report on Future of U.S. Research Universities

The National Research Council will release a report entitled Research Universities and the Future of America: Ten Breakthrough Actions Vital to Our Nation’s Prosperity and Security, which examines the health and competitiveness of our nation’s research universities and their partnership with government and industry.
