The President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) will hold a conference call to discuss its Advanced Manufacturing Partnership report and its Advancing Innovation in Drug Development and Evaluation report. Additional information and the agenda will be available on PCAST’s website. Participants must register no later than 12 p.m. on Thurs., April 12.

April 18: Health IT Standards Committee Meeting

The Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health Information Technology (HIT) Standards Committee will meet to discuss standards implementation specifications and certification criteria for the electronic exchange of health information. 

April 18: Subcommittee Hearing on FDA User Fees and How Innovation Helps Patients
10:15 a.m.; 2123 Rayburn House Office Building; Washington, D.C.
The House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health will hold a hearing entitled, “FDA User Fees 2012: How Innovation Helps Patients and Jobs.” At the hearing, the subcommittee will focus on the reauthorization of the Prescription Drug User Fee Act (FDUFA) and the Medical Device User Fee Act (MDUFA), which are set to expire in September 2012. The hearing will also focus on the new generic drug user fee and the biosimilars user fee.
