On the Hill…

January 27, 2012—Rep Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) Jan. 24 announced she will submit her resignation from Congress. Rep. Giffords suffered a near-fatal gunshot wound last year in an attack that killed six people in at a congressional event in Tucson, and will resign to focus on her recovery; however, she said, “I will recover and will return.”

Rep. Brad Miller (D-N.C.) Jan. 26 announced he will not seek reelection in 2012. Rep Miller currently is serving his fifth term representing the 13th district of North Carolina, and sits on the House Financial Services Committee and is a Ranking Member of the Science, Space, and Technology Committee, Energy and Environment Subcommittee.
