    VA MISSION Act Passes Senate, Heads to President’s Desk

    The full Senate May 23 considered the VA Maintaining Internal Systems and Strengthening Integrated Outside Networks (MISSION) Act of 2018 after passing the House May 16. The Senate also passed the legislation by a vote of 92-5.

    The new legislation was introduced May 3 by House VA Committee Chairman Phil Roe (R- Tenn.) [see Washington Highlights, May 4]. The bill revises the existing Veterans Choice Program, including various scholarship, loan repayment, and graduate medical education (GME) pilot program provisions.
