    PAHPA Reauthorization Goes to President

    Allyson Perleoni, Director, Government Relations
Tannaz Rasouli, Sr. Director, Public Policy & Strategic Outreach

The House June 4 passed by voice vote the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness and Advancing Innovation Act (PAHPAI, S.1379). The legislation reauthorizes the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act (PAHPA) along with the Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP), the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS), and the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA). The stand-alone bill did not include the same over the counter (OTC) provisions that were previously passed by the House but were holding the passage of the legislation in the Senate. The Senate passed the legislation last month [see Washington Highlights, May 17], and now the bill will go to the president’s desk for signature.
