Toussaint is a senior at Florida International University with a major in health services administration and a minor in English. Prior to joining the AAMC, she worked as a policy fellow at Battelle, where she attended hearings and completed projects in areas including artificial intelligence, prescription drug prices, and programs funded by the Department of Energy. She has also interned on Capitol Hill and the State Department, strengthening her understanding of federal agencies and the legislative process. Before coming to Washington, Toussaint worked as a community health worker at the YMCA of South Florida where she built programs at affordable housing properties to support residents through events such as food distributions, health screenings, and first-time homebuyer seminars.

Toussaint is fueled by her passion for building resiliency within communities while improving the health and well-being of others. During her internship at the AAMC, she will research policy proposals related to AI in medical education, write reports on relevant hearings, and work on other projects on health-related issues impacting AAMC constituents.

Following her graduation, Toussaint hopes to continue health policy and advocacy work, potentially as a governmental relations associate or policy analyst. She also plans to attend graduate school for a master’s degree in public health.
