HHS Seeks Public Comment to Develop Workgroup to Increase Innovation and Investment in Health Care Sector

Mary Mullaney, Director, Hospital Payment Policies

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) June 6 released a request for information (RFI) seeking public comment on a planned initiative to develop a workgroup to focus on promoting innovation and investment to provide for significant impact on the health and well being of Americans.  The HHS envisions the workgroup as a forum to hear the individual perspectives of attendees and foster new and innovative approaches to tackle the complicated challenges facing the health care industry.

HHS seeks comment on how to structure the workgroup in order to best support communication and understanding between parties that will spur investment in the healthcare industry, increase competition, improve innovation, and allow capital investment in the healthcare sector to have a more significant impact on the health and wellbeing of Americans.  HHS also seeks comment more broadly on opportunities for increased engagement and dialogue between HHS and those focused on innovating and investing in the health care industry.

Comments are due July 6, 2018.
