CMS Releases Notice on Proposed Revisions to Hospital Cost Reporting Forms

Len Marquez, Senior Director, Government Relations

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Feb. 6 proposed changes to the Form CMS-2552-10, Hospital and Hospital Health Care Complex Cost Report.

The proposed revisions are made in accordance with the statutory requirement for hospice payment reform in Section 3132 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care (ACA, P.L. 111-148 and P.L. 111-152) and the statutory requirement establishing a prospective payment system for Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) in Section 10501(i)(3)(A) codified in Section 1834(o) of the Act.

CMS is seeking public comments regarding the revised cost report through April 7. CMS is also requesting that the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) review and approve the revisions.
