    AAMC Signs ONC Interoperability Pledge

Ivy Baer, Senior Director and Regulatory Counsel

The AAMC April 6 signed the Interoperability Pledge developed by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), an important step to getting providers, developers, and others to work together to ensure that our healthcare system is an open and connected one that supports the success of delivery system reform.

The three goals of the pledge ensure that: consumers have easy and secure access to their electronic health information; the sharing of electronic health information is not blocked; and that federal standards, policies and guidance on interoperability and adopt best practices related to privacy and security.

The AAMC encourages members to also sign the pledge.
