Rosha C. McCoy, MD, FAAP
Rosha C. McCoy, MD, FAAP, leads the AAMC’s efforts to improve health care access, quality, and equity and to advance clinical leadership and effectiveness.

Rosha C. McCoy, MD, FAAP, is senior director for advancing clinical leadership and quality/health care affairs; the lead for the action plan to improve health care access for all, which is part of the AAMC’s strategic plan; and the principal investigator for the AAMC/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s cooperative agreement to build confidence in the COVID-19 vaccines. Since July 1, 2022, Dr. McCoy has served as acting chief health care officer, leading efforts to enhance and improve health care access, quality, and equity and to advance clinical leadership and effectiveness in academic medicine.

Before joining the AAMC, Dr. McCoy was the chief medical officer (CMO) at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital — part of the Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood, Florida — for 13 years. Prior to her CMO role, she was an associate professor of pediatrics, the vice chair for education, the residency program director, and the interim chair of the Department of Pediatrics at the Medical University of Ohio (now the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences).

Dr. McCoy is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency training at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
