Where will the MCAT exam be offered?

The MCAT exam is offered all throughout the United States, Canada and in 15 other countries thoroughout the world. For current listing of test sites, you must go into the Scheduling & Registration System.

Note: Test sites are subject to change.

When will the MCAT exam be offered?

When can I register for the computerized MCAT exam?

For the 2008 MCAT administrations, registration will usually open 120 days before a test date.

How far will I have to travel to take the exam?

We are striving to have at least one testing site within 100 miles of every candidate and expect that almost all candidates will test within 100 miles of their location.

How often will I be able to take the MCAT exam?

You may take the MCAT exam a maximum of three times per year, but can only register for one testing session at a time. Documentation is no longer required if you have already taken the exam three or more times.

How long will I have to wait until I can retake the exam?

There is no defined waiting period between tests. However, you may only register for one testing session at a time, and you must wait until the second day following your exam administration to register for your next exam.

How can I register and schedule a testing session?

AAMC will conduct registration and scheduling online through the MCAT exam registration site. The system will be similar to the process used in booking an airline ticket. First, you will choose a general location where you would like to test, and then you choose your desired test center, date, and time. Specific time-place options will be closed as they are filled.

What information will I need to provide during registration and scheduling?

When you schedule your appointment, you should be prepared to provide following information:

• Your Social Security or Social Insurance number.
• Contact phone numbers in the event that we need to get in touch with you.
• E-mail address. This is often the fastest and most effective means of contact. Many test sponsors require e-mail contact information for registration.
• Payment information, such as MasterCard or Visa.
  

Will I be able to cancel and/or reschedule my exam appointment?

You will be able to cancel or reschedule your MCAT exam through the MCAT exam registration site.

Will I be able to get on a wait list for a specific test session?

This option is not available for the 2008 MCAT dates.
