Description |
Submit your Fee Assistance Program (FAP) application prior to MCAT
Registration (if applicable). |
If you are eligible for FAP, you must receive a FAP approval prior
to registering for the MCAT exam or you will be charged the full
MCAT fee. You must use the FAP application for the year in which
you are registering, not for the year in which you are taking the
exam. For example, if you are registering in 2009 for a 2010 MCAT,
then you must have an approval for the 2009 FAP application. |

MCAT Scheduling
& Registration System (PDF) provides additional
information and tips for using our registration system. |
Register early. |
For the best chance at registering for your preferred test date
or location, we recommend you register 60 days or more in advance
of the exam day. Please note that online pre-registration is required
and that walk-in registration is not available. |
Enter your name in the Scheduling and Registration system exactly
as it appears on your identification (ID). |
If your name on your registration does not match your ID, we cannot
allow you into the test center. The "Last Name" field
in the registration system will allow you to enter two names. For
example, if you have two family or surnames on your ID but you have
entered only one on your registration, you will not be allowed to
test. Other examples include entering your initials in the registration
when your ID includes your full name, or entering an "English" version
of your name that does not match your ID. Your first and last name
on your ID must match the first and last name on your registration.
If you need to make a change to your registration, you must make
it by the late registration deadline (see 2010 Registration Deadline and Score Release Schedule) to give
us sufficient time to notify the test center. |
Test early if you plan to test more than once. |
If you think you may test two or three times this year, we recommend
you plan your first attempt for January, April, or May. Since you
can only hold one seat at a time, a nearby seat may not be available
for you by the time you are allowed to register for August and September
if you make your first attempt in June or July. |
Ensure your contact information is accurate and up-to-date. |
Every so often we have to reschedule a very small percentage of
examinees due to inclement weather, server outages, and other facilities
issues. Therefore, we must be able to contact you. You are responsible
for ensuring that your contact information is correct and current
at all times. You can log into the Scheduling and Registration system
at any time to double-check or update your information. |
Update your e-mail settings. |
When we do need to contact you, we try by phone and e-mail. Make
sure your e-mail is set to receive e-mail from the AAMC ("aamc.org"
and "aamcsurveys.org") and Prometric ("prometric.com")
so it does not recognize us as spam. |
Check your registration the day before test day. |
Log in to the Scheduling and Registration system one more time
to make sure you have the current address of your test center. As
noted above, a change could have occurred. Make sure you have the
current address. |
Review your credit card statement for charges |
The fees charged for the MCAT exam will be listed on your credit
card billing statement as "ASSN OF AMER MED COLL 202-862-6260
DC." If you experience problems with your transaction, please
contact the MCAT Program Office directly at 202-828-0690 or mcat@aamc.org.
Please note that all fees for MCAT exam appointments must be paid
in full before you will be allowed to test. |
