Accommodated Testing

Early Application Encouraged

The MCAT Office of Accommodated Testing may require up to 60 days to process your request for accommodations.  Please submit documentation as far in advance of your desired test date as possible.

For Applicants: What Steps Do I Take?

Since each student's circumstances are different, the process of applying for accommodated testing is individualized. In brief, you will be required to register, obtain and submit documentation completed by a qualified evaluator, and confirm your accomodated seat (if your request is approved). The following will guide you through the process:

  1. Register for the MCAT exam, making certain to check the box indicating that you will be requesting accommodations.

  2. Read the Documentation Requirements appropriate to your disability or disabilities and submit them to your evaluator:

  3. Note: Applicants with chronic medical conditions (for example, diabetes, migraines, or asthma) or temporarily disabling conditions (such as a broken leg or recovery from an accident) should select Documenting Physical Disabilities.

  4. Submit the following to the MCAT Office of Accommodated Testing:

    • Your own written request in the form of a cover letter
    • Your completed Accommodations Request Form (PDF, 3 pages)
    • The documentation received from your evaluator

  5. Wait for a decision from the Office of Accommodated Testing.

Please read Additional Information and Guidelines for further details of the accommodations process and requirements, including evaluator qualifications and the currency (timeliness) of the evaluation.
