Accommodated Testing

For Evaluators: What do I need to know?

Documentation Requirements

Please make sure to read the Documentation Requirements carefully so that appropriate documentation can be assembled to support the accommodations request. In addition to the supporting documentation, evaluators may also need to submit the following forms:

Decision from the Office of Accommodated Testing

Incomplete or insufficient documentation is the most frequent reason the MCAT Office of Accommodated Testing cannot approve an accommodations request. Read more about the common reasons why requests are not approved (PDF, 1 page).

Have a Question?

If you have a question about the documentation requirements or a decision for a specific examinee, please write to accommodations@aamc.org. Please make sure we have an Authorization to Release Health Information (PDF, 1 page) on file so that we can respond to your inquiry.

Evaluators with general, technical questions (not pertaining to specific clients) about the process for documenting a disability should send an e-mail to docreview@aamc.org.

Evaluators Manual

A guide for evaluators with important tips for preparing documentation for submission to the MCAT Office of Accommodated Testing is being prepared and will be posted soon.
