Steps in the Process

Steps in the FindAResident Process

Step 1: Create your FindAResident resume
Step 2: Attach documents (photo or CV)
Step 3: Review and activate resume
Step 4: Search for and notify programs
Step 5: Check back often for new notifications
Step 6: Update your FindAResident information

Step 3: Review and Activate Resume

After completing all available information in all the sections of the resume, you can quickly review the status of your information. The "Resume" home page details how many records you completed for each section and provides the opportunity to review your resume, as programs will see it.

Activate your resume once you have reviewed it for completeness and accuracy. Any program registered in FindAResident can view your active resume. Withhold your name from your resume if you are concerned about confidentiality. If you find a position or simply want to deactivate your resume, you may do so at any time by logging in and changing your resume status to inactive. Programs cannot view deactivated resumes.

Step 4: Search for and notify programs

Now that you have activated your resume, you may begin searching our list of residency and fellowship positions. FindAResident lets you search for positions by:

  • Specialty
  • Post-graduate level
  • Geographic location

Position listings contain contact information for the sponsoring program, as well as any prerequisites needed to apply. If you are interested in a listed position, use the notification function to send your resume directly to the program's private FindAResident mailbox. Any programs you have notified are listed in your FindAResident mailbox under the "Notification Sent" section.
