Step 2: Get Your Electronic Token
Contact the EFDO for your electronic token. Only the EFDO may generate
an electronic token you can use. The EFDO establishes processing
procedures for ERAS applications, including the schedule for distributing
tokens, downloading applicant files, scanning transcripts, attaching
documents, processing LoRs, and sending files to programs. Contact
the EFDO to check their schedule and procedures. Don't assume the
EFDO will attach or transmit your files at the last minute. Processing
may take a week or longer. The EFDO lead time for scanning and uploading
documents is up to four weeks.
If there is a problem with transmissions you could miss a deadline.
Give the EFDO and yourself enough time to meet deadlines. Submit
documents at least four weeks prior to program deadlines. Contact
your letter writers now for early submission of documents. You must
follow the EFDO document submission guidelines published at https://www.erasfellowshipdocuments.org.
