Information for Applying to Programs Impacted by Katrina

A number of programs participating in ERAS were severely impacted by Hurricane Katrina, including hospitals and residency programs in the New Orleans area, Alabama and Mississippi. News reports (and information AAMC leadership has received from contacts in the New Orleans area) indicate that it may be some time before activities in heavily impacted areas return to normal.

Due to the damage from hurricane Katrina, ERAS emphasizes the importance of contacting programs prior to applying, to confirm that they are accepting applications.
