Preparing for ScrambleBeginning at 12:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday of Match Week, a brief period of time, commonly known as "Scramble", is set aside for unmatched applicants and unfilled programs to fill positions that went unfilled during the NRMP Match. This brief period occurs between 12:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday and 12:00 p.m. ET on Thursday of Match Week. During this period, residency applicants who did not match to a position may use ERAS to send applications to a maximum of thirty (30) ACGME-accredited programs to which they've never applied, as well as fifteen (15) applications to ACGME-accredited programs where they applied previously during the ERAS application season, all free of charge based on the following criteria:
Monday, March 15, 2010 - Applicants may log into the NRMP Web site at www.nrmp.org with their AAMC ID number and password at 12:00 p.m. ET to find out if they matched to a position but not where. Tuesday, March 16, 2010 - Unmatched applicants who submitted a certified rank order list will be given access to NRMP's Dynamic List of Unfilled Programs at 12:00 p.m. ET. The list is updated by the NRMP every hour to reflect the number of remaining unfilled positions. Thursday, March 18, 2010 - Match Day! Matched applicants may log into the NRMP Web site at 1:00 p.m. ET with their AAMC ID number and password to find out where they matched.
