- Am I using the correct browser version?
For PC users, AMCAS supports the following browser versions:
- Internet Explorer 7.0
- Internet Explorer 6.0
- Internet Explorer 5.5
- Netscape 7
- Firefox 1.0.2
- Firefox 1.5
- Firefox 2.0
- Firefox 3.0
For Mac users, AMCAS supports the following browser versions:
- Mozilla Firefox versions 1.0.2, 1.5, 2.0, 3.0
- Netscape 7
- Internet Explorer 5.1.7
- Internet Explorer 5.2
Currently we are unable to support Internet Explorer 8
Failure to use supported browsers may result in application delays,
lost data, and/or missed deadlines. Applicants using browsers
other than those supported by AMCAS (such as Opera) have reported
experiencing problems.
Applicants who use AOL (or similar Internet service providers
that combine the Internet service with a browser such as MSN)
should use one of the supported browsers after connecting to the
Internet.
Applicants can obtain a correct browser version of Firefox at
www.getfirefox.com
or Internet Explorer at www.microsoft.com.
- Other browser-related issues:
- Why can't I see the address fields on the application's registration
page?
- How can I remove the big black line through the header on
the Help pages?
- Where is the scroll bar?
- I've tried to enter course work, but I can't save my work.
The above questions are a few examples of browser-related issues
you may experience as you complete your AMCAS application. The
majority of these errors have been encountered by applicants using
Netscape. Because these are browser-related issues over which
AMCAS has no control, we recommend that you obtain a correct browser
version of Netscape or switch to Internet Explorer.
Regarding the inability of certain applicants to save their coursework,
this bug has been traced to certain Netscape versions. We are
currently attempting to find a resolution and recommend that you
switch to an alternate browser version if you are using one of
these Netscape browsers.
Applicants can obtain a correct browser version of Firefox at
www.getfirefox.com
or Internet Explorer at www.microsoft.com.
