Goals
This program is designed to prepare students for a career in clinical research. Our students with MD or PhD degrees use this training to develop the skills they need to be independent investigators. Students with undergraduate degrees use this training to prepare for research careers in industry or academic settings.

Thesis Requirement
Either (1) a traditional thesis of original work (approximately 50 pages) or (2) 2 manuscripts on which the student is first author (or co-first author) which have been submitted to peer-reviewed journals

Goals
Our goal is to provide superior didactic and practical training to physicians and surgeons pursuing careers in translational patient-oriented research. We expect that our graduates will be leaders in biomedical research in academic medical centers, managed care groups, industry, and government.
