Quality of Care in Teaching Hospitals: Studies SummaryThe quality of patient care delivered in our nation's hospitals has become a primary focus for the public, providers, employers, and regulators. Teaching hospitals have a unique mission as centers for education, research and clinical care and are the sites for many quality of care initiatives. "Quality of Care in Teaching Hospitals" reviews and analyzes 23 studies that compare quality of care in teaching hospitals to other institutions for a variety of conditions, types of patients, outcomes, and geographic locations.
