Timelines and Deadlines

  • If timeline dates fall on a federal holiday, the activity will take place on the next business day.

September Application Cycle: ACGME-accredited residency programs

March 2009

Programs complete ERAS registration.

May - August 2009

Programs should update their Web sites to provide information to applicants about what to submit via ERAS, deadlines, etc.

Mid-late June 2009

• Schools may begin generating and distributing tokens to applicants.
• Osteopathic residency training programs will begin receiving their Program Director's Workstation (PDWS) materials.

July 1, 2009

• Applicants may register on the MyERAS Web site and begin completing their applications.
Note
: Applicants may select programs, but cannot apply to ACGME-accredited residency programs before September 1st.
• Osteopathic applicants may apply to osteopathic training programs only.
• ERAS Support Services at ECFMG begins generating and distributing tokens to applicants (IMGs only).

July 15, 2009

• ERAS 2010 PostOffice opens to osteopathic residency programs.
• Applicants may begin transmitting their application to osteopathic residency programs.

August 15, 2009

Allopathic residency training programs will begin receiving their Program Director's Workstation (PDWS) materials.

September 1, 2009

• ERAS 2010 PostOffice opens to allopathic residency programs.
• Applicants may begin transmitting their applications to allopathic residency programs.

October 15, 2009

MSPEs are released at 12:01 a.m. ET to all osteopathic residency programs.*

November 1, 2009

MSPEs are released at 12:01 a.m. ET to all allopathic residency programs.*

December 2009

Military Match results are available.

February 2010

American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Match results are available.

March 2010

NRMP (National Resident Matching Program) Main Residency Match results are available.

May 31, 2010

ERAS PostOffice will close to prepare for the 2011 season.

*According to their schedule, your designated dean's office will upload the MSPE to the ERAS PostOffice. The MSPE (along with other ERAS documents) are transmitted from the Dean's Office Workstation (DWS) to the ERAS PostOffice, and are placed in the programs' mailboxes. Most uploaded files become available immediately; the MSPEs, however, are held until October 15th for osteopathic residency programs and November 1st for allopathic residency programs.
