ERAS Policies
Data Policy
The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) and the Electronic
Residency Application Service (ERAS) recognize the importance of responsibly
collecting and guarding the information we receive from our users. The
AAMC has developed data policy
(PDF, 2 pages) guidelines to prevent the exposure of personal data without
the prior permission of the individual.
Integrity Promotion Program
The AAMC is dedicated to promoting integrity in graduate medical education,
and advocates high standards during the application process. ERAS has
developed an Integrity Promotion Program to encourage these highs standards
for residency, internship and fellowship applications.
- Integrity Promotion Education
Program
As part of the Integrity Promotion Program, ERAS is including an education
component which will educate applicants, schools and programs about
ERAS' application standards and the irregularities that can lead to
an investigation.
- Integrity Promotion Investigation
Program
The Integrity Promotion Investigation Program will assist ERAS users
in understanding the steps in the Investigations Process and the consequences
of a positive finding.
