Upcoming CiM Workshop

Tentatively scheduled for March 11-12, 2010 at the AAMC Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

The CiM Workshop is a two-day session where participants learn how to implement the Careers in Medicine program on their campus. The workshop is tailored to medical school faculty and staff responsible for providing career-planning services to medical students.

Training topics include:

  • Overview of the phases and components of the CiM program
  • The importance of self-assessment to career development
  • Advising and counseling skills
  • Use of the CiM Web site
  • Interactive exercises and case studies on successfully implementing the program in your school

Professional Development Conference

The Careers in Medicine Professional Development Conference (PDC) provides more in-depth coverage of a wide variety of topics related to CiM and career development in general. We frequently feature guest speakers and panel presentations from students affairs professionals on Careers in Medicine issues, assessments, tools and theory. The Professional Development Conference is held every other year. Our next PDC is tentatively scheduled for summer 2011.
