UVA School of Medicine Receives $20 Million for Prostate Cancer Research: The University of Virginia School of Medicine has received $20 million from the estate of the late Paul Mellon to fund prostate cancer research. U.S. Chamber of Commerce Joins Coalition to Protect America's Health Care: The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the world's largest business federation, has become the newest member of the Coalition to Protect America's Health Care. The coalition, a broad-based group of more than 250 businesses, hospitals, and hospital associations including the AAMC, has also begun airing a new ad. Titled "Always There," the ad aims to educate the public about U.S. hospitals' precarious finances in the wake of the Balanced Budget Act of 1997's drastic cuts in funding.
