New AAMC Study Examines Members' Economic
Impact
A recent AAMC report on the economic impact of medical
schools and teaching hospitals indicates that many of these
institutions function as engines of significant growth in
their communities, affecting not only their immediate regions
but also the economy of the entire nation. More >>

Education Expands
For the past 30 years, medical students at Texas Tech
University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) have received their
medical education in two locations. The Lubbock site offered
the first two years of classroom instruction, followed by
two years of clinical education at a number of locations,
including El Paso, the site of a future medical school. More >>

Research funding at the Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention (CDC) has undergone a facelift in the past
