Washington, D.C., February 15, 2007--The AAMC (Association of American Medical Colleges) issued the following statement regarding the case, AAMC vs. Princeton Review: "The AAMC and The Princeton Review, Inc., have amicably resolved a lawsuit that AAMC filed against Princeton Review in March 2003. AAMC had sued Princeton Review for copyright infringement and state law violations after learning that individuals were taking the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) and preparing reports for Princeton Review at its request. Princeton Review denied that its practices were unlawful but voluntarily discontinued the practices objected to by the AAMC shortly after AAMC filed suit. Princeton Review is no longer conducting the program that the AAMC challenged, and the AAMC is satisfied that Princeton Review's actions did not result in students getting access to secure MCAT questions." # # # The Association of American Medical Colleges is a not-for-profit association representing all 130 accredited U.S. and 17 accredited Canadian medical schools; nearly 400 major teaching hospitals and health systems, including 68 Department of Veterans Affairs medical centers; and nearly 90 academic and scientific societies. Through these institutions and organizations, the AAMC represents 125,000 faculty members, 70,000 medical students, and 104,000 resident physicians. Additional information about the AAMC and U.S. medical schools and teaching hospitals is available at www.aamc.org/newsroom. |
